A landmine exploded in the territory of Dagmashanli village in the liberated Jabrayil district.
The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the press services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) issued a joint statement.
According to the statement, Orkhan Gahramanov, a resident of Jabrayil district born in 2000, stepped on an anti-personnel mine while grazing livestock in an area that had not been cleared of mines. He sustained injuries of varying severity.
The Jabrayil District Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the incident.
ANAMA, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Prosecutor General’s Office once again urged citizens to follow safety rules, heed mine hazard signs, avoid touching suspicious objects, stay out of unfamiliar areas and not enter areas where fencing work is under way.
