China has called on Israel and other relevant stakeholders in the region to act in accordance with agreements reached between the United States and Iran.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, this statement was made by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian during a press briefing, as cited by the TASS news agency.
“At this critical juncture, all relevant parties, including Israel, must act in the interest of regional peace and stability. Instead of taking steps that hinder this process, measures should be taken to facilitate the implementation of first-phase agreements and advance second-phase negotiations,” Lin Jian emphasized.
The Chinese official further stated that Beijing is prepared to play an active role in ensuring lasting peace and stability in the Middle East. According to the diplomat, China intends to utilize its influence and maintain close cooperation with the international community to achieve these objectives.
China has increasingly sought to position itself as a mediator in Middle Eastern affairs, notably brokering the restoration of diplomatic ties between Saudi Arabia and Iran in 2023. By advocating for the continuation of negotiations, Beijing aims to prevent further escalation in a region currently grappling with complex geopolitical tensions and ongoing conflicts that threaten global energy security and international diplomatic stability.
