The May issue of "Screen International," a leading international publication in the film industry based in the United Kingdom, has featured Azerbaijan on its cover. The edition highlights the country's growing appeal as a destination for international cinematography and its strategic efforts to attract global productions.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the cover story focuses on the newly implemented cash rebate mechanism, a key result of reforms in Azerbaijan's film production sector. Under a decree by the Cabinet of Ministers dated July 4, 2025, film producers can receive a 25% refund on expenses incurred for goods, works, and services during production in Azerbaijan. Furthermore, an additional 15% rebate is available if the project meets at least three specific criteria for promoting Azerbaijani culture, allowing production companies to recover up to 40% of their total costs.

The magazine's May issue is dedicated to the 79th Cannes Film Festival, where Azerbaijan is currently represented with a national stand to showcase its cinematic opportunities. "Screen International," which traces its origins back to 1889 and has been published under its current name since 1975, suggests that these financial incentives will position Azerbaijan as a premier location for foreign filmmakers. This initiative aligns with Azerbaijan's broader strategy to diversify its economy and promote its rich cultural heritage on the global stage through the creative industries.
