Turkish football club Besiktas has officially appointed Vincenzo Italiano as its new head coach, the club's press service announced.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Istanbul-based club confirmed that it has reached an agreement with the Italian specialist to lead the team.
Besiktas had parted ways with its former head coach, Sergen Yalcin, last month following a series of results that prompted the club's management to seek a change in leadership. The appointment of Italiano marks a new chapter for the Black Eagles, who are looking to revitalize their performance in the Turkish Super Lig.
Besiktas is one of Turkey's most historic and successful football clubs, based in the Besiktas district of Istanbul. Founded in 1903, the club has won numerous league titles and domestic cups, consistently competing at the highest levels of European football. The arrival of a foreign tactician like Italiano is often viewed by the club's board as a strategic move to implement modern European coaching methodologies and restore the team's competitive edge in both domestic and international competitions.
