The official Telegram channel of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko’s press service has reportedly been hacked.
"Operative Information Center-OMM" reports, citing the Ostorozhno, Novosti publication.
According to the publication, users who accessed the link to the “Pul Pervogo” channel, an official resource of the Belarusian leader’s press service, were shown materials of an erotic nature. Attempts to open the channel’s older posts resulted in a messenger error and a warning that the channel had switched to private mode.
The “Pul Pervogo” Telegram channel has more than 250,000 subscribers. The official reason why the channel became inaccessible and why erotic content was published remains unknown.
At present, the channel is accessible again and the posts in question have been deleted.
Telegram channels operated by government institutions and public officials are commonly used to distribute official statements, announcements and media materials. A temporary loss of access or unauthorized changes to such channels can affect the dissemination of verified information until the account is restored.
