Azerbaijan will present the Master Plan of Baku during the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13). The presentation aims to showcase the capital's strategic development and urban transformation to an international audience.
Anar Guliyev, Chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture and the national coordinator for WUF13, shared these details in a statement to journalists, according to the Operative Information Center-OMM. "Baku's Master Plan has been approved for several years and is currently being implemented. In addition to the capital, forum participants will be informed about the development directions and master plans of other cities across the country," Guliyev noted.
The World Urban Forum, established by the United Nations, is the premier global conference on sustainable urbanization. Azerbaijan's participation and the presentation of its urban development strategies, particularly for Baku and the liberated territories in Garabagh, highlight the country's commitment to modernizing infrastructure and implementing smart city technologies. The Master Plan for Baku, designed to guide the city's growth through 2040, focuses on environmental sustainability, transport efficiency, and the preservation of historical heritage.
