Baku hosts international conference on missing persons

The conference in the capital is discussing the fate of missing people and new approaches to search efforts. What measures are experts proposing?

Baku is hosting the fourth international conference on “Strengthening trust and developing effective mechanisms to address the problem of missing persons.” The event is being held under the “Baku Dialogue” on missing persons and organized by the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that former heads of state and government, senior representatives of international organizations and foreign countries, heads of agencies working on missing persons, experts, representatives of non-governmental organizations and human rights specialists are attending. The participants also include ambassadors and military attachés of foreign countries accredited in Azerbaijan, as well as other guests.

The conference brings together officials and specialists involved in addressing the issue of missing persons. Such forums provide a platform for discussing cooperation, building trust and developing effective approaches to clarifying the fate of missing people.
