New pick-up and drop-off zones have been established at three locations in Baku to facilitate easier access for visitors to nearby medical institutions. Part of the existing street parking spaces on Samad Vurgun and Mardanov Brothers streets have been removed to accommodate these changes.
The Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA) under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, that a "No Parking" (3.28) road sign has been installed in front of the Educational-Surgical Clinic of Azerbaijan Medical University on Samad Vurgun Street to designate a pick-up and drop-off zone. Additionally, a "Taxi Stand" (5.14) sign has been placed to allow taxis to safely discharge passengers. Similar pick-up and drop-off zones with "No Parking" signs have been set up on Mardanov Brothers Street, in front of the Republican Pediatric Center and the Clinical Medical Center.
These measures are part of Azerbaijan's broader urban transport management strategy to optimize traffic flow and ensure pedestrian and passenger safety around major public and medical infrastructure in the capital. The Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency continues to implement systematic changes in Baku to prevent traffic congestion and improve the accessibility of public transport and specialized transport zones.
