Azerbaijan’s state debt expected to near 29 billion manats in 2027

The Azerbaijani government forecasts that state debt will amount to 26.9532 billion manats by the end of 2026 and 28.5909 billion manats by the end of 2027.

The Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing the Ministry of Finance.

According to the report, net direct government borrowing will increase by 965.7 million manats this year and by 1.6377 billion manats next year.

Expenditure on servicing state debt and liabilities is expected to total 2.4576 billion manats in 2026 and 2.2 billion manats in 2027.

Government debt projections are included in Azerbaijan’s medium-term fiscal planning and reflect anticipated borrowing needs and debt-servicing obligations. The figures may be adjusted depending on budget execution, borrowing conditions and changes in macroeconomic indicators.
