Səhiyyə Nazirliyi: Epidemioloji vəziyyət hazırda sabitdir

The epidemiological situation in Azerbaijan is currently stable, and there are no grounds for public concern regarding the spread of infectious diseases, the Ministry of Health announced.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Ministry is closely monitoring the situation in coordination with the World Health Organization (WHO). Under the framework of International Health Regulations, Azerbaijani health authorities are working with international partners to ensure effective preventive measures and rapid response protocols are in place.

The official statement specifically addressed concerns regarding hantaviruses, noting that human infection typically occurs through direct contact with the urine, feces, or saliva of infected rodents, or by inhaling dust contaminated with these secretions. The Ministry emphasized that human-to-human transmission is extremely rare and has been primarily documented in relation to the Andes virus strain found in the Americas. "The Ministry of Health is keeping the epidemiological situation under control and calls on the population to rely only on official sources. The current situation does not pose any additional risk to the population of Azerbaijan," the statement read.

Azerbaijan's healthcare system maintains a robust surveillance network to monitor seasonal viral trends and potential outbreaks. The Ministry of Health regularly updates its protocols in line with global health standards to ensure public safety. In recent years, Azerbaijan has significantly modernized its laboratory infrastructure and diagnostic capabilities, allowing for the swift identification and management of various infectious agents within the country.
