Azerbaijan’s national football team will play its next UEFA Nations League match today.
“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports that the team, led by head coach Aykhan Abbasov, will face Lithuania in League D, Group 2.
The match on October 4 will kick off at 17:00. CBC Sport will broadcast the game live.
Azerbaijan seek a win
Azerbaijan have collected two points from their first two group-stage matches and currently sit second in the group.
Lithuania lead the group with four points. The group’s other team, Liechtenstein, have one point.
The match against Lithuania is therefore important for Azerbaijan’s position in the group. A win would give the team more points and help narrow the gap to the leaders.
Portuguese referee to officiate the match
Gustavo Correia of the Portuguese Football Federation will serve as the match’s head referee.
The Azerbaijan-Lithuania match is part of the group stage of the 2026/2027 UEFA Nations League. It will kick off at 17:00 and will be broadcast live on CBC Sport.
