The Main State Traffic Police Department (BDYPI) of Azerbaijan will operate in an enhanced mode during the upcoming Novruz and Ramadan holidays to ensure public safety on the nation's roads.

The Operative Information Center-OMM was officially informed by the department that the measure is being implemented in anticipation of a sharp increase in traffic intensity across the country. The BDYPI urges all road users to exercise maximum caution and responsibility, emphasizing that every decision made behind the wheel directly impacts human lives and even minor negligence can lead to severe consequences.

To ensure safety, the department advises motorists to properly assess road and weather conditions before departing and to conduct a thorough check of their vehicle's technical condition. Furthermore, drivers are strictly required to adhere to established speed limits and maintain a safe following distance. Traffic police officers will be deployed in an intensified capacity to maintain order and assist citizens throughout the festive period.

In Azerbaijan, Novruz and Ramadan are among the most significant national and religious holidays, typically characterized by mass travel from the capital, Baku, to various regions. This year, the holiday period will be observed from March 20-24. Such enhanced security measures are standard practice in the Republic to minimize the risk of traffic accidents during peak travel seasons and to ensure the seamless flow of transport on major highways connecting the regions.
