The Main State Traffic Police Department of Azerbaijan has issued an official appeal to road users regarding the upcoming non-working days. According to information provided to the Operative Information Center-OMM, a significant increase in traffic intensity is expected on highways of national importance during the weekend and holiday period.
To ensure safety on roads leading particularly to tourism and recreation regions, the department has strengthened security measures and called on all participants to act responsibly. "Drivers are requested to adjust their speed according to road and weather conditions. They should avoid driving if they have health issues or are feeling tired or drowsy. It is essential to maintain a safe following distance, avoid risky overtaking maneuvers, and strictly follow road regulation signs. Additionally, vehicles should be checked for technical fitness before starting a journey," the statement emphasized.
The Main State Traffic Police Department regularly issues such warnings during public holidays in Azerbaijan to minimize the risk of traffic accidents. These measures are part of a broader national strategy to improve road safety and manage the high volume of travelers heading from Baku to the various regions of the Republic. Enhanced patrols and monitoring are typically implemented on major transit routes to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and the protection of all citizens and visitors.
