The coverage of schools implementing the specialized education model in Azerbaijan will be expanded.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Eshqi Baghirov, director of the State Agency for Preschool and General Education, made the announcement on the “Pressing” program broadcast by Public Television.

He said that some schools where the specialized education model had been introduced had been effectively revitalized:

“When we compare the results of these schools not only with previous years but also with the admission rates of higher education institutions in the cities or district centers where the schools are located, we see that these schools differ significantly and positively. Based on all these results, positive changes and indicators, we decided to expand the coverage of the project.”

Baghirov added that a decision had been made to include 90 more schools in the project in the near future:

“Nearly 16,000 applications from parents have been registered. We have already launched the educational process at those schools. We hope that, by the end of the next academic year, we will achieve strong results at those schools and please both parents and the public.”

The specialized education model is designed to organize instruction with a stronger focus on selected academic areas and to support students’ preparation for higher education. Its expansion is based on the performance indicators reported by schools already participating in the project.
