Three new strategically important centers will be established under the Electronic Security Service (ESS) of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport by the end of this year.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that this significant step will be implemented within the framework of the "Action Plan for 2026–2028 on Accelerating Digital Development," which was approved today by President Ilham Aliyev.
According to the approved document, the initiative includes the founding of the National Security Operations Center (N-SOC), the National Computer Emergency Response Team (N-CERT), and a specialized center for digital forensic investigations. This new infrastructure will enable the ESS to more effectively coordinate the collection of cyber incident data and manage categorized response actions across Azerbaijan.
The financing for the measures outlined in the Action Plan will be provided through the state budget and other sources permitted by law. This initiative is part of a broader national strategy to modernize Azerbaijan's digital landscape and protect critical information infrastructure from evolving global cyber threats.
In recent years, Azerbaijan has significantly increased its focus on digital sovereignty and cybersecurity. The establishment of these centers aligns with the country's efforts to integrate advanced technological solutions into public administration and the private sector, ensuring a resilient digital environment for both citizens and businesses in the Republic.
