Azərbaycanda yeni turizm qanunu hazırlandı

Recent developments within Azerbaijan's tourism sector have necessitated a comprehensive update to the existing legislative framework. This initiative aims to align national regulations with evolving global tourism trends and domestic growth objectives.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Florian Sengstschmid, Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan Tourism Bureau under the State Tourism Agency, announced this development during the event titled "Unlocking Azerbaijan's Tourism Potential to Ensure Economic Growth and Diversification" held in Baku.

According to Sengstschmid, while the "Law on Tourism" adopted in 2021 significantly contributed to the sector's development, current market dynamics require further refinement. "Our assessment indicates that, given the processes observed over the past year, updating the law has become essential. A new draft law has been prepared and is ready for submission to the government for discussion," he stated.

Since 2018, Azerbaijan has been implementing consistent reforms to build a sustainable and competitive tourism ecosystem. These efforts have included the establishment of new standardization systems, hotel star classification protocols, the creation of hotel associations, and the implementation of certification mechanisms for tour guides, all designed to elevate the quality of services provided to international and domestic visitors.
