The National Hydrometeorological Service has issued a yellow weather warning for August 8-9 due to expected strong winds in several regions of Azerbaijan.
This information was provided to the Operative Information Center-OMM by the National Hydrometeorological Service.
According to the official statement, the warning applies to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, as well as the districts of Jabrayil, Goranboy, Naftalan, Dashkasan, Mingachevir, Jalilabad, Bilasuvar, Hajigabul, Khachmaz, Siyazan, Shabran, and Gusar. In these areas, south-easterly winds are expected to reach speeds of 13.9 to 20.7 meters per second.
A yellow warning indicates potentially dangerous weather conditions that may cause disruption to daily activities. The National Hydrometeorological Service regularly monitors atmospheric changes across the country to provide timely alerts to the public and relevant government agencies, ensuring safety measures can be implemented in areas prone to severe weather events.
