From the daytime of September 1 through the evening of September 2, intermittent rain is expected in several mountainous and foothill regions of Azerbaijan. The National Hydrometeorological Service has issued a weather warning regarding the anticipated meteorological conditions.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the weather is expected to be unstable, with short-term heavy downpours, lightning, and the possibility of hail in some areas. Authorities have advised residents and travelers in these regions to exercise caution due to the volatile weather patterns.
Due to the expected precipitation, water levels in rivers are projected to rise. The National Hydrometeorological Service has warned that short-term flash floods cannot be excluded in some mountain rivers. Such hydrological events are common in the Greater and Lesser Caucasus regions during periods of intense rainfall, which can significantly impact local infrastructure and agricultural activities in the surrounding valleys.
