The sixth meeting of the Joint Commission on Cooperation in Economic, Industrial and Technological Fields between the Government of Azerbaijan and the Government of Greece is expected to be held in Athens tomorrow.
The Ministry of Energy told “Operative Information Center-OMM”.
The Azerbaijani delegation, led by Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov, co-chair of the commission from Azerbaijan, has already departed for Greece. Greece’s Deputy Foreign Minister Theoharis Theoharis will chair the work of the Intergovernmental Commission on behalf of Greece.
In addition to the intergovernmental commission meeting, bilateral meetings and the Azerbaijan-Greece business forum are planned as part of the visit.
The fifth meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission was held in Baku on June 13, 2024.
In the first eight months of this year, trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Greece amounted to $631.014 million. This figure increased 1.3 times compared with the same period last year.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan exported $564 million worth of products to Greece, up 25.1%, while imports from Greece to Azerbaijan amounted to $67 million, an increase of 2.4 times.
The commission serves as a platform for reviewing bilateral economic ties and identifying opportunities for cooperation in trade, industry, technology and other sectors. Business forums held alongside such meetings also facilitate direct contacts between companies from the two countries.
