The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Azerbaijan has extended its condolences to the Central African Republic following a tragic incident.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the ministry shared an official statement regarding the incident on its official "X" account.

"We are deeply saddened by the news of the deadly accident at a gold mine in the Central African Republic, which has resulted in numerous casualties and injuries. We extend our deepest condolences to the families of the victims, as well as to the people and government of the Central African Republic. We wish a speedy and full recovery to the injured and hope for the swift safety of all those affected by the incident," the statement read.

The Central African Republic, a landlocked nation in Central Africa, frequently faces challenges related to artisanal mining safety. The recent collapse of a gold mine near the border between Cameroon and the Central African Republic has resulted in the loss of nearly 100 lives, highlighting the ongoing risks associated with unregulated mining operations in the region.
