Austria defeat Kosovo 3-1 in Nations League

The second-round match in Group 3 of UEFA Nations League League B has been played. Austria and Kosovo faced each other at Vienna’s Ernst Happel Stadium.

Austria won the match 3-1, which was officiated by Scottish referee Nick Walsh.

The hosts opened the scoring in the 23rd minute through Austria defender David Affengruber. Chukwubuike Adamu doubled the lead in first-half stoppage time, scoring in the 45+2nd minute.

Karim Chukwuemeka scored Austria’s third goal in the 61st minute. Kosovo were awarded a penalty in the 83rd minute, and Edon Zhegrova converted it to pull one goal back for his team.

In the opening round, Austria defeated Israel 3-1, while Kosovo beat Ireland 1-0. In the next round, Kosovo will travel to face Israel, while Austria will play Ireland. Both matches will take place on October 1.

UEFA Nations League matches are played in a league format, with teams competing for points within their groups before the final standings determine promotion, relegation or progression to the next stage.
