Former head coach of the Azerbaijan national team and Sabah, Arif Asadov, has shared his views on the Baku club’s match against Viking in Round 4 of the UEFA Champions League league phase.
Asadov said the Norwegian side were a suitable opponent for Sabah: “Sabah can overcome this opponent. Viking are a team we can match. Just as we beat Slavia at home, we can do the same against the Norwegian side away.”
Challenges in the away match
In the experienced coach’s view, the long journey, weather conditions and artificial turf could pose challenges for the Baku club. However, he stressed that Sabah had gained Champions League experience and confidence after playing Borussia Dortmund.
Asadov said he expected the team to return from the away trip with at least one point and wished Sabah success. His comments were published in an interview with fanat.az.
The Viking-Sabah match will be played on November 4 at Lyse Arena in Stavanger. Kick-off is scheduled for 23:59 Baku time.
