Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has left for Baghdad to attend the 52nd session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers, scheduled for October 17-18.
“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports that Al Jazeera announced the trip.
During the visit, Araghchi will also hold bilateral talks with the heads of foreign affairs bodies from several participating countries, according to the television network.
The OIC Council of Foreign Ministers meeting will be held under the theme “Dialogue and solidarity — two key foundations for supporting peace and sustainable development.”
The meeting comes amid ongoing tensions in relations between the United States and Israel and Iran, as well as an escalation of the situation in Yemen.
