The Lao People’s Democratic Republic has been admitted to the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA).
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that President Ilham Aliyev said this at the seventh CICA Summit, held in Baku.
He said Azerbaijan highly values Laos’s admission to CICA within the framework of the summit in Baku.
The head of state noted that Azerbaijan is playing an increasingly important role as a hub connecting the Eurasian region.
“Azerbaijan pursues an independent foreign policy.”
CICA is a regional forum that promotes cooperation and confidence-building among Asian countries. Its expansion brings additional participants into dialogue on regional issues.
