President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with President of the State of Israel Isaac Herzog on October 14.
“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports that during the meeting, the Israeli president congratulated Azerbaijan on its chairmanship of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA). Herzog described Azerbaijan’s continued chairmanship of the organization in 2026–2028 as a sign of the high confidence placed in the country and said he welcomed the decision.
The Israeli president praised efforts during Azerbaijan’s chairmanship to expand practical cooperation within CICA and strengthen confidence-building measures.
The head of state thanked Herzog for his high assessment of Azerbaijan’s chairmanship. President Ilham Aliyev said Azerbaijan, as the presiding country, was continuing its efforts to strengthen mutual trust among CICA member states and develop practical cooperation.
The two presidents also exchanged views on bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Israel, as well as international and regional issues.
