President Ilham Aliyev has sent a congratulatory letter to German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the letter reads:
“Dear Mr. President,
On the occasion of your country’s national holiday, German Unity Day, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to you and the entire German people on my own behalf and on behalf of the people of Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan, as Germany’s most important and reliable partner in the South Caucasus, attaches particular importance to the comprehensive development of bilateral interstate relations and cooperation. During my visit to Germany in July this year, the signing of the “Joint Declaration on a Strategic Agenda for Bilateral Partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Federal Republic of Germany” laid the foundation for a qualitatively new stage in our interstate relations — a strategic partnership.
Our active political dialogue contributes to cooperation between our countries in economic and trade affairs, energy, transport, connectivity, investment, humanitarian issues and other fields. It also plays a significant role in developing cooperation across the Eurasian continent and in our effective collaboration in the energy sector.
I believe that we will continue joint efforts to further strengthen Azerbaijan-Germany friendship in the interests of our peoples and deepen our cooperation both bilaterally and within the framework of the European Union.
On this holiday, I wish you good health, happiness and success in your responsible activities, and lasting peace and prosperity to the friendly people of Germany.”
