Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has said he hopes US President Donald Trump’s efforts to establish lasting peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia will be recognized with the Nobel Peace Prize.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, the head of state wrote this on his page on the social network X.
“President Donald Trump played a historic role in promoting peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia at the Washington peace summit he hosted on August 8, 2025. In recognition of his significant contribution to the peace process, at my initiative, Azerbaijan and Armenia jointly nominated President Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.
We sincerely hope that President Trump’s historic efforts to secure lasting peace in our region will be duly recognized in this year’s decision on the Nobel Peace Prize,” the post said.
