Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov met with World Aquatics President Husain Al-Musallam in Baku on Sept. 30.
The meeting highlighted the significance of hosting the World Aquatics Swimming World Cup in Baku for the first time. The competition is expected to strengthen Azerbaijan’s international reputation in sports and contribute to the development of swimming in the country.
The sides exchanged views on the attention given to swimming in Azerbaijan, the modern sports infrastructure established in the country and Azerbaijan’s experience in hosting international competitions.
The meeting noted that cooperation with World Aquatics has been developing successfully. The sides also discussed ways to further expand the partnership in the future.
World Aquatics, the international governing body for aquatic sports, oversees major competitions in swimming and related disciplines. Hosting events of this level provides athletes with international experience and supports the development of sports facilities and programs.
