Inter Milan center-back Alessandro Bastoni has agreed to join Spanish club Barcelona.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing foreign media, that the Italian footballer is fully prepared to sign a contract with the Catalan representative.
The club's management reportedly offered the defender a five-year contract as early as April. The 27-year-old defender has already given a verbal positive response to this proposal. He is reportedly focused solely on wearing the Barcelona jersey and is not considering options from other clubs.
Despite the personal agreement, official negotiations between the Spanish and Italian clubs have not yet commenced. According to the Transfermarkt portal, Alessandro Bastoni's market value is estimated at 70 million euros. However, it is anticipated that the transfer could cost the Spanish giants less than the current market valuation.
Bastoni has been a cornerstone of Inter Milan's defense, helping the club secure domestic titles and reaching the UEFA Champions League final in recent seasons. Barcelona's interest comes as the club continues to bolster its defensive line under its current sporting project, aiming to integrate experienced European talent into the squad to maintain competitiveness in both La Liga and European competitions.
