The 36th NATO Leaders' Summit officially begins today at the Presidential Complex in Ankara.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the two-day event is being hosted by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, with sessions chaired by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.

The summit brings together heads of state and government from 31 allied nations, including US President Donald Trump, alongside leaders from invited partner countries. The Presidential Complex has been fully prepared to accommodate thousands of diplomats, high-ranking officials, and international delegates attending the proceedings.

The agenda for the summit focuses on defining the alliance's future strategic direction, addressing pressing global and regional security challenges, and establishing key priorities for the upcoming period. Discussions are expected to cover a wide range of defense and geopolitical issues currently impacting the transatlantic security architecture.

Experts emphasize that this summit holds particular significance, not only due to the urgency of the current international security agenda but also as a demonstration of Turkey's growing influence and pivotal role in global politics. NATO summits serve as the primary forum for the alliance's decision-making, where leaders align on collective defense strategies and political cooperation.
