Turkish authorities seized 297 kilograms of synthetic drugs, 520 kilograms of chemical additives, a mixer, equipment used to produce narcotics and two precision scales during an operation at a house in Istanbul’s Sisli district.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing TRT Haber, that the operation was carried out by officers from the Istanbul Police Department’s Anti-Narcotics Division under the coordination of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office’s Bureau for Combating Smuggling and Narcotics Crimes.
Two people were detained during the operation.
An investigation has been launched against the detainees on charges of producing and illegally trafficking narcotic or psychotropic substances.
Turkey’s law enforcement agencies regularly conduct anti-narcotics operations targeting the production, storage and distribution of illegal drugs. The investigation into the seized substances and the suspects remains ongoing.
