Biography

Azer Islah oglu Pashayev graduated from the Faculty of Law of Azerbaijan State University in 1989. In 1989–1990, he worked as a specialist and junior research fellow in the Department for the Generalisation of Expert Practice and Expert Prevention of the Azerbaijan Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Examinations; in 1990–1991, he was senior editor of the "Socialist Legality" bulletin of the Ministry of Justice. He also worked as a second-category specialist in the First Department of the Ministry of Justice.

In 1991–2010, he worked in the prosecutor's offices: as a prosecutor, senior prosecutor, and deputy head of departments and divisions in various departments and divisions of the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic; as a prosecutor at the Baku City Prosecutor's Office; and in 2008–2010, as a prosecutor in the Department for Supervision of Investigations in the Prosecutor's Office of the General Prosecutor's Office. He also worked as deputy prosecutor of the Absheron District.

In 2010–2017, he was a judge of the Nasimi District Court of Baku; from 2017, he was a judge of the Baku Court of Grave Crimes, and subsequently worked as a judge and chairperson of the Garadagh District Court of Baku. By Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated April 15, 2025, he was relieved of his positions as judge and chairperson of the Garadagh District Court and appointed judge and chairperson of the Sabail District Court of Baku.

Since 2018, he has been a member of the audit commissions of the Public Association (Association) of General Court Judges of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Union of Associations of Judges of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
