Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has expressed his gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev for his congratulatory message on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of Ukraine's independence.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Zelensky shared a photograph of the congratulatory letter from the President of Azerbaijan on his official "X" account.
"Mr. President, thank you for your sincere congratulations on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of Ukraine's independence. Azerbaijan's position regarding Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity has always been firm, and we have always highly valued this. Together, we continue to develop our long-standing economic cooperation, create new opportunities in the energy and security sectors, and extend a helping hand when needed. I am confident that the friendship, mutual respect, and strategic partnership between Ukraine and Azerbaijan will continue to strengthen," Zelensky emphasized.
The relationship between Azerbaijan and Ukraine is characterized by a robust strategic partnership, particularly in the energy and humanitarian sectors. Both nations have consistently supported each other's territorial integrity and sovereignty on international platforms. In recent years, this cooperation has deepened, with Azerbaijan providing significant humanitarian aid, including fuel and electricity equipment, to support Ukraine's energy infrastructure during challenging times.
