A yellow alert has been issued regarding expected windy weather conditions in several regions of Azerbaijan on May 12. According to the National Hydrometeorological Service, the atmospheric changes will primarily affect the northern, western, and eastern districts of the country.

The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that an easterly wind is expected to prevail in Quba, Qusar, Khachmaz, Shabran, Siyazan, Khizi, Gobustan, Dashkasan, Goranboy, Naftalan, Ganja, Kalbajar, Lachin, and Zangilan. In accordance with the yellow alert, wind speeds in these areas are projected to reach between 13.9 and 20.7 meters per second.

The yellow alert is part of a color-coded warning system used by the National Hydrometeorological Service to inform the public about potential weather risks. A yellow warning signifies that the weather is potentially dangerous, advising citizens to stay vigilant and exercise caution during outdoor activities, particularly in mountainous and foothill regions where wind gusts can be more intense. Such meteorological patterns are common during seasonal transitions in Azerbaijan, often influenced by the country's diverse topography and proximity to the Caspian Sea.
