YAP congress held after Azerbaijan restored sovereignty, Aliyev says

For the first time, our congress is being held after Azerbaijan fully restored its territorial integrity and sovereignty.

“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports that President Ilham Aliyev, chairman of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP), made the remarks while addressing the party’s eighth congress.

Recalling that the seventh congress was also held in a new environment at the time, the head of state said: “Only a few months had passed since our glorious Victory, and the whole world was talking about it. Azerbaijan had, on its own, both ended the occupation and created new realities in the region. Since then—from our Victory in the Second Garabagh War to the present day—these realities have been accepted by the entire world.”
