US President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff is expected to travel to Norway this week for the next round of talks on ending the war in Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is also expected to take part in the meetings, AnewZ reported, citing Reuters.
Three people familiar with the matter said the discussions in Oslo would also include Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store, representatives of the E4 group — Britain, France, Germany and Poland — and officials from the European Union and NATO.
Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, who was expected to participate in the talks, has fallen ill and will join the meeting online, the report said.
Two of the people said Witkoff would also travel to Russia to meet Putin. Talks with the Russian side are expected to cover various issues related to Ukraine, as well as the release of US citizen Stephen Hubbard, who was detained in Russia in 2022.
The people, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the plans for the trip and meetings were preliminary and could change.
