England's West Ham United has made an initial inquiry regarding the transfer of Atalanta midfielder Nicola Zalewski.
Operative Information Center-OMM, citing foreign media reports, reports that the 24-year-old Polish international, who also holds Italian citizenship, has drawn significant attention from European clubs due to his consistent performances in recent months.
Zalewski, who has been a regular starter for the Bergamo-based side since mid-November, has seen his rising form place him on the radar of several major clubs, including Napoli. In the current Serie A season, the midfielder has made 18 appearances, recording one goal and three assists.
Zalewski’s career path saw him move from Roma to Inter Milan for 6.5 million euros before joining Atalanta in a deal worth 17 million euros. While the Bergamo club does not consider the player untouchable, the management is reportedly only willing to consider a sale if a substantial financial offer is presented.
The midfielder is currently under contract with Atalanta until June 2029. According to the Transfermarkt portal, his current market value is estimated at 15 million euros. Notably, in September 2024, Roma accepted a 15-million-euro offer from Galatasaray, but the player personally rejected the move. It appears Zalewski is one of the primary candidates for a move from Serie A to the Premier League during the upcoming summer transfer window.
The interest from West Ham United comes as the London club seeks to strengthen its squad depth and technical options in the midfield. Atalanta, known for its strategic player development and high-value transfers, remains in a strong negotiating position given the player's long-term contract and growing international profile.
