The National Hydrometeorological Service has issued yellow and orange weather warnings for Baku, the Absheron Peninsula, and several other regions of Azerbaijan, citing expected strong winds on August 31.
According to the service, as reported by the Operative Information Center-OMM, a yellow warning has been issued for Nakhchivan, Goygol, Ganja, Samukh, Aghstafa, Gazakh, Dashkasan, Tovuz, Gadabay, Gusar, Shamkir, Khizi, Khachmaz, Shabran, Siyazan, Gobustan, Shirvan, Hajigabul, Neftchala, Aghdam, Mingachevir, Yevlakh, Tartar, Barda, Bilasuvar, Salyan, Jalilabad, Masalli, Yardimli, Lerik, Kalbajar, Lachin, Fuzuli, Beylagan, Imishli, Saatli, Sabirabad, and Jabrayil. In these areas, easterly winds are expected to reach speeds of 13.9-20.7 meters per second.
An orange warning, indicating more severe conditions, has been issued for Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, where north-westerly winds are expected. Similarly, an orange warning is in effect for Goranboy, Naftalan, Julfa, and Ordubad, where easterly winds are forecast to intensify to 20.8-28.4 meters per second.
