A significant cache of weapons and ammunition has been discovered in the Absheron district, according to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing information from the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The Ministry reported that its "112" hotline received an alert regarding the discovery of munitions in the Absheron area. In response, a rapid response team specializing in mine clearance from the Ministry's Special Risky Rescue Service was immediately dispatched to the scene.

Following the implementation of necessary security measures in coordination with law enforcement officials, an inspection of the site revealed a collection of combat-ready items. These included two F-1 hand grenades, one RQD-5 hand grenade, three UZRQM-2 detonators, 67 rounds of 5.45 mm ammunition, one 7.62 mm round, four 9 mm rounds, two AK-74 assault rifles, and one Makarov-type pistol.

Specialists from the Special Risky Rescue Service successfully removed the munitions from the site. A subsequent search of the immediate vicinity confirmed that no other dangerous or suspicious items remained in the area.

The discovery of illegal weapons caches remains a critical security priority for Azerbaijani authorities, who continue to conduct regular operations to ensure public safety and prevent the proliferation of illicit military equipment. Such measures are essential for maintaining stability and order across the country, particularly in regions where remnants of past conflicts or illegal stockpiles may still pose a threat to civilian populations.
