Agricultural products exported from Azerbaijan's Zira region are of exceptional quality and taste, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said during a joint press statement with President Ilham Aliyev.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, the Serbian leader emphasized the growing potential for bilateral cooperation in the agrarian sector. President Vucic noted that products are being exported from Azerbaijan to Serbia at competitive rates, stating: Compared to other exported products, this is a very acceptable price. Therefore, we believe that government officials should look into this, establish cooperation in this field, and prepare to purchase the products offered by our Azerbaijani friends. He further added that Serbia also possesses a wide range of products to offer the Azerbaijani market.
The Zira region, located on the Absheron Peninsula near Baku, is renowned for its unique microclimate and traditional greenhouse farming, particularly its world-famous tomatoes. This diplomatic focus on agriculture underscores the strengthening economic ties between Azerbaijan and Serbia, which have recently expanded beyond energy and defense into food security and trade diversification. Both nations continue to leverage their strategic partnership to enhance non-oil sector growth and regional logistics connectivity.
