Volcanic eruption recorded in Azerbaijan’s Garadagh district

A volcanic eruption has occurred in the Garadagh district.

“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports that the information was released by the Earthquake Research Bureau of the Republican Seismic Survey Center under the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences.

The bureau said the volcanic eruption was recorded at 7:32 a.m. local time.

Mud volcanoes are a natural geological phenomenon commonly observed in Azerbaijan, particularly in areas around the Absheron Peninsula and the Caspian Sea. They can emit mud, gas and water during eruptive activity and are monitored by seismological authorities.
