“I would like to congratulate Azerbaijan on accepting the chairmanship of the Consultative Meeting.”
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev made the proposal while addressing the opening of the eighth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Azerbaijan and Central Asia in Avaza.
“Under Azerbaijan’s chairmanship, work within our format will gain additional momentum, and our brotherly cooperation will help strengthen unity, trust and solidarity,” the Uzbek leader said.
Mirziyoyev also noted that Azerbaijan plays an important role in creating a more reliable and robust economic and transport space between Central Asia and other regions.
The Consultative Meeting brings together the leaders of Azerbaijan and Central Asian states to discuss regional cooperation. Azerbaijan’s participation reflects its growing role in connectivity between Central Asia and other regions, including through economic and transport links.
