US President Donald Trump has once again utilized his social media platform, Truth Social, to share an image featuring a map of Venezuela labeled as the "51st state."
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, citing foreign media reports, the image depicts the territory of the Bolivarian Republic colored in the patterns of the United States flag.
It should be noted that this is not the first instance of such posts by US President Donald Trump. He has previously floated similar concepts regarding the potential integration of other territories, including Canada and Greenland, an autonomous territory of Denmark, into the United States.
The current post comes against a backdrop of heightened regional instability. On January 3 of this year, the United States conducted operations targeting civil and military sites in Venezuela, resulting in the detention of President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, who were subsequently transported to the United States. These events mark a significant escalation in the long-standing diplomatic and political tensions between Washington and Caracas, reflecting the broader geopolitical shifts currently impacting the Western Hemisphere.
