Joint operations by officers of the State Customs Committee’s Main Department of Operational Investigation, Baku Main Customs Department and Tovuz Customs Department uncovered medicines being smuggled into Azerbaijan.
“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports, citing the committee, that a freight vehicle arriving in the Republic of Azerbaijan from Georgia was stopped at the “Red Bridge” customs post and subjected to a customs inspection.
During the inspection, officers found 82 types of medicines that had not been declared to customs and were concealed among medicines officially imported into Azerbaijan. The value of the medicines was estimated at 507,000 manats. An investigation into the case is underway.
