Azerbaijan has demonstrated remarkable resilience, vision, and an extraordinary commitment to its international obligations and urban development goals. This statement was made by Anaclaudia Rossbach, the Executive Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), during the closing ceremony of the 13th World Urban Forum (WUF13) held in Baku.

The World Urban Forum, established by the United Nations in 2001, is the premier global conference on sustainable urbanization. By hosting WUF13, Azerbaijan continues to solidify its position as a key diplomatic and logistical hub in the region. The event brings together government officials, urban planners, and civil society leaders to examine the rapid transformation of cities and develop strategies for inclusive, resilient, and sustainable urban growth in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
