Ukraine's Ambassador to Poland, Vasyl Bodnar, has issued a statement regarding a fatal attack on a local couple in the Polish city of Bytow.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing the publication Do Rzeczy, the ambassador strongly condemned the incident, emphasizing that there is no place for such violence in a civilized society.

Vasyl Bodnar stated that no individual has the right to take another person's life. He stressed that in a state governed by the rule of law, every individual must be held accountable for their actions only after their guilt has been proven through due process.

The incident occurred on July 9 in Bytow. A group of three Ukrainian nationals allegedly attacked a local couple, resulting in the death of a Polish man who sustained severe injuries. Law enforcement agencies are currently conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the event.

It should be noted that this is not an isolated incident in Poland recently. Tensions involving foreigners and local populations have occasionally surfaced in the country. In previous instances, reports have emerged of xenophobic-related altercations, including a case where a Polish citizen physically assaulted a compatriot after mistakenly identifying them as Ukrainian, accompanied by verbal abuse regarding their presence in the country.
