The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has suspended all flights operated by Iranian airlines to the country.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority announced the decision in an official statement.
The statement cited as the reason a US ban on Iranian airlines’ use of airports worldwide, as well as sanctions imposed by Washington.
It said the public and all relevant parties would be regularly informed of developments until air transport between the UAE and Iran returns to normal.
The Civil Aviation Authority urged the public to rely only on information issued by authorized official sources to help prevent disinformation regarding air transport procedures.
The suspension affects air links between the UAE and Iran amid wider US measures targeting Iranian airlines. Such restrictions can affect passenger travel, cargo operations and the availability of direct connections until further notice.
