Iranian military forces launched an attack using two unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) against a tanker belonging to the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) in the Strait of Hormuz, with no injuries reported.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) confirmed the incident through an official statement on social media. "The UAE condemns the attack on the ADNOC national tanker during its passage through the Strait of Hormuz," the statement read.
The Strait of Hormuz is a critical maritime chokepoint through which approximately one-fifth of the world's total oil consumption passes daily. This incident occurs amid heightened geopolitical friction in the Persian Gulf, where maritime security remains a primary concern for international energy markets and regional stability. Similar incidents in the past have frequently led to increased naval patrols by international coalitions to ensure the freedom of navigation in these strategic waters.
