On June 22, the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, visited Zafar Park in Baku. A guard of honor was lined up in the park in honor of the distinguished guest, according to the Operative Information Center-OMM.

During the visit, the President of Turkmenistan laid a wreath at the Zafar Monument, paying his respects to the memory of those who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.

The distinguished guest was provided with detailed information about Zafar Park, which was established to commemorate the unparalleled heroism of the Azerbaijani people during the Patriotic War and to honor the memory of the martyrs. It was noted that the park, covering an area of nearly 10 hectares, features a Zafar Arch at its entrance. The arch stands 44 meters high and 22 meters wide, with 44 columns, symbolizing the 44-day Patriotic War that led to the liberation of Azerbaijan's territories.

Zafar Park serves as a significant memorial site in Baku, reflecting the national pride and historical significance of the 2020 Patriotic War. The creation of such memorial complexes is part of Azerbaijan's broader initiative to preserve the legacy of the liberation of Garabagh and to educate future generations about the country's modern history and the restoration of its sovereignty.
