Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan to sign tripartite defense pact

Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan are set to sign a tripartite defense agreement today in the Saudi city of Jeddah. The pact is expected to significantly enhance military cooperation and strategic coordination among the three nations.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing Turkish media reports, the agreement focuses on expanding defense partnerships, including joint training exercises and technology sharing. The document is scheduled to be signed during a high-level meeting in Jeddah.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Saudi Arabia today for a one-day working visit to oversee the proceedings. This diplomatic move comes amid heightened regional tensions, with Pakistan recently engaging in mediation efforts regarding US-Iran relations, while Türkiye continues its intensive diplomatic push for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. The trilateral agreement builds upon a foundation laid in 2025, when Pakistan and Saudi Arabia first announced their intent to pursue a joint defense framework, signaling a shift toward deeper security integration in the region.
